The Expanding Images™ Microscope System contains several features that are key to its success.

First, the microscope’s five steps of magnification allow the dentist to view his work much more clearly than with the naked eye or dental loupes. Endodontic, restorative, and implant/periodontal procedures are just some areas where this microscope system would prove useful.

Second, the unique placement of the mounting bracket on the dental chair’s light pole or operatory wall, combined with fold-a-way arms, gives the microscope system a space-saving edge in design. It is unobtrusive, easily accessed, and requires no mobile stand.

Third, the dentist is able to set the microscope to the appropriate viewing angle for the procedure to be performed by using the adjustable pin-locking feature. Once set, the microscope angle will be maintained throughout the entire procedure and focus will remain constant. Once the patient is in position, only fine adjustments are necessary.

Fourth, the fiber optic ring light provides high-quality lighting of the work area by means of a remote switch placed on the back of the dental chair. This allows the dentist to adjust the intensity of the ring light with the convenient turn of a dial.

Fifth, the compact, modular design of the microscope makes it highly portable. It can be removed from the operatory and placed on a microscope stand for lab use elsewhere in the office.

MICRO DENTISTRY IS THE WAY OF THE FUTURE.
LET EXPANDING IMAGES™ TAKE YOU THERE.

Accessories:

Micro Mirrors
The micro mirrors included with each microscope system order enhances the field of view for both the dentist and assistant. Most commonly used dental mirrors are approximately 22 mm in diameter. The smaller diameter of the micro mirror (12mm and 14mm) appear to be of normal size when viewed under the microscope.

Protective Eyewear
Eye shields are included in every microscope system order. In addition to being tinted for patient protection, they are also lightweight, easy-to-wear, and can be worn over glasses. The frames are reusable (cold sterilization is recommended or they can be autoclaved up to 240°F) and are available in a variety of colors.

AV Photo Lamp
Included in each microscope system order is a replacement AV Photo Lamp (21V, 150W). The illuminator box comes with one already installed, and this bulb is a backup.

Video Imaging Camera
The modular nature of the microscope allows it to be upgraded with a video camera which can capture both live and still video. This allows the dentist to document procedures and use them for diagnosis as well as for educating patients. (The images can be recorded onto VHS, S-VHS, or CD.) The patient can actually take a guided tour of his/her own mouth. Co-diagnosis is accomplished relatively easily by video versus the patient holding a dental mirror and viewing his/her mouth in a hand held mirror. In addition, the dentist can teach technique to assistants and colleagues while viewing the video output.

Microscope Stand
The modular nature of the microscope allows it to be placed in a microscope stand. This is especially helpful to the dentist who wants to do microscopic lab work.
